What is Procrastination? Procrastination is the escape of doing a work that needs to be accomplished in a certain time limit. It could be more certain as a habitual or intensional delay detains from starting or finishing a work despite knowing it might have negative consequences. It is a common human behavior or experience involving delay daily tasks and also delay important tasks. Procrastinating not only a behavior, but it is also to experience it depend on experience, for example, if you work on a task and you fail 2 or 3 times then if you decide to work again on the same task then you are trying to avoid it. So, you understand what is Procrastination. The simplest way to stop procrastination is the “Two-Minute Rule”. Using the Two-Minute Rule Many rules fit to stop procrastination but the Two-Minute rule very good to stop procrastination. The two-Minute rule says to do a task for less time, for example, if you start a difficult task like 1 KM daily running the first day you can’t run 1 KM so you apply the Two-Minute rule. The first day you run for two minutes or only 100 meters. You can’t procrastinate this task because you make is easy and small. Most of the tasks that you avoid doing aren’t really difficult to do; you have enough skills to complete them, but you just procrastinate to starting them for one reason or another reason. The Two–Minute Rule help to overcomes procrastination and laziness by making it so easy and simple to start taking action that you can’t say no. You decide the difficult task that you avoid to do. And Organize the schedule to do that difficult task. On that difficult task apply the Two-Minute rule. You divide that task into small pieces like I do work on that task for 5 minutes, 15 minutes or 30 minutes you choose time according to you. And start doing work on it. After some time you notice you can’t procrastinate that work. And you will complete that particular task on its deadline. You decide the deadline for that task to accomplish and stop procrastination. The 2–Minute Rule work for big goals as well as small goals. Two-Minute rule help to achieve many big and small goals in life. Once you starting do something, it’s easy to continue doing it. Want to become a good writer? Just write one line (apply the Two–Minute Rule), and you’ll usually find yourself writing for an hour or for a long time. Want to eat healthy food? Just eat one piece of fruit ( apply Two–Minute Rule), and you’ll usually find yourself energized to make a healthy salad as well. Want to make reading a habit? Just read the one page of a book (apply Two–Minute Rule), and you read the first three chapters. The Two–Minute Rule isn’t about the results you gain, but slightly about the process of actually you do the work. The focus is on taking small and easy action.
